Last night I went to The Capital Grille in Center City, Philadelphia, with my mom and my sister. To drink I had a Shirley Temple, which is my favorite drink of all times. The Shirley Temple had an orange slice and two cherries and a lot of cherry juice so it was strong, which was good because I like it that way.
For an appetizer I had a Caesar salad. It was not ordinary, it had fresh slivers of parmesan cheese and it was yummy. For my main dish, I asked for pasta with red sauce with some grilled shrimp. The shape of the pasta was swirly spirals. Their red sauce was unique and I loved it.
For dessert, I had a double chocolate cookie ice cream sandwich, and I shared some of my mom’s chocolate hazlenut cake. They were both very good, of course.
Then as a surprise, the chef sent out his favorite dessert, the coconut cream pie. It was fabulous and definitely to die for. That’s a giant cookie that came with it as well.
My sister had a Caesar salad too and the lobster bisque for dinner and the creme brulee for dessert and she thought her food was top notch. She and my mom also shared a dish of creamed spinach that they liked very much. My mom enjoyed the salad too and ordered salmon with citrus glaze for her main dish.
The restaurant was very fancy and beautiful. The chef, Shawn Sollberger, came to our table, and so did the manager of the restaurant. Here is the chef preparing the same kind of salmon dish that my mom ordered, with citrus glaze. Everyone was very kind and generous. Our waiter Tom was excellent and very nice. He took pictures of us too. This restaurant is definitely a restaurant where they pay attention to every little detail, like everything was just perfect. It makes you feel special.
I just have to tell you that the leftovers from the restaurant, I had to have for breakfast this morning because the food was so phenomenal.
We were in Philly because my sister was going to see her new apartment she is going to rent near her school, Temple University. After dinner we walked around and did some shopping. The city was beautiful in the snow, and when I came home I just had to shake up my Philadelphia snow globe as a good ending to a memorable day that I will never forget.
